We successfully hosted the 15th Global Meeting of the Emerging Markets Forum in collaboration with Banque de France in Paris between May 16-18, 2022.
We were quite excited in organizing this physical conference after a break of two years – essentially due to a pandemic that left no region of the world untouched. To say the least the world has not only changed, it continues to change even at a faster pace than ever before.
Keeping in mind the situation the world is currently going through ,this year’s agenda was built under the overarching theme: Navigating in a Fast Moving and Turbulent World.
Apart from taking a deep look at the contemporary and global mega trends the meeting also discussed the impact of geopolitical turmoil on the global economy, the emerging technological landscape for emerging markets, challenges thrown up by universal climate change, growing inequality and inequities across boundaries, reforming global monetary system, challenges that Africa faces in its way of development, the possible growth path for Latin America.
The Forum was co-chaired by Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Former Deputy Chairman, the Planning Commission of India; Masatsugu Asakawa, President, Asian Development Bank (ADB); Michel Camdessus, Former Managing Director, IMF; Enrique Garcia, Former President and Chief Executive Officer, CAF – Development Bank of Latin America.
As in the past, this year’s Global meeting brought together around140 prominent policy makers, private sector leaders, academics and intellectuals from around the world to have open and vibrant discussions on nine carefully selected topics over three days.
It also give us the opportunity to learn and discuss the principal conclusions of our new publication:
Envisioning 2060: Opportunities and Risks for Emerging Markets.
