Prabhakar Narvekar is the Vice Chairman and Founding Director of the Centennial Group. He is world-renowned thinker on macroeconomic, fiscal and monetary policy issues, and central bank management.  His distinguished career at the International Monetary Fund spanned 4 decades (1953-1997) where he was Director of the Asian Department (1986-1991), Special Advisor to the Managing Director (1991-1994), and Deputy Managing Director from 1994 to 1997. At the height of the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997, he simultaneously served as Special Advisor to the Managing Direction of the IMF and the President of Indonesia. Mr. Narvekar graduated from Bombay University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1951 and completed his Master’s degree from Columbia University in New York in 1953. During his service at the International Monetary Fund, Mr. Narvekar spent a year at Columbia University and a year at Oxford University in England as Visiting Fellow.
