2010 Eurasia Emerging Markets Forum

The first Eurasia Emerging Markets Forum will take place from 23 to 25 January 2010 in Thun, near Bern, in Switzerland.

The Forum will be jointly chaired by Joseph Deiss, Former President of the Swiss Confederation, Switzerland, Michel Camdessus, Governor, Emeritus, Banque de France and Former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and, Grigori A. Marchenko, Governor of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Forum will follow the structure of the Eurasia Emerging Markets Forum Inaugural Meeting which was held in January 2009 at the Study Center of the Swiss National Bank in Gerzensee, Switzerland. It will be a closed door meeting which will be limited to about 50–55 participants in order to facilitate frank and open exchanges of ideas.

The discussions will focus on the following themes:

  • Impact of Global Economic Crisis on Central Asia
  • Investment Climate and Prospects
  • Trade and Transport Integration
  • Importance of a Prosperous Central Asia
  • Regional Cooperation and Economic Integration
